Introduction

The Old Town Hall is a 5 star rated guest accommodation provider with a silver award. There are 3 bedrooms; all have quality furniture from Laura Ashley and 100% cotton bedding. There is a guest lounge with comfy sofas and an open fire for the winter months. All our food is freshly cooked of high quality and sourced locally where possible.

• The nearest main line train station is at Northallerton. A bus service runs to Leyburn then on to Redmire or it is possible to get a bus to Leeming Bar then use the Wensleydale Railway to Redmire. (Limited timetable)
• We can also arrange collection from any point along the route if required.
• Leyburn is the nearest town, approx 5 miles away.
• There is a 24 hour taxi service available in the village.
• There are hire shops for mountain bikes and canoes etc available locally.
 

 
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities


There is a car park at the rear of the property for 3 vehicles and parking is also available opposite the front of the building.
• Assistance with luggage etc is available from the car park to the entrance. 
• Drop off is available by the main entrance, on a tarmac road leading to a gravel/ stone slab path, there are no kerbs.
• There is access to the rear of vehicles in the car park which has no speed bumps or barriers.
• The contact phone number is displayed at the front of the building.
• There is provision for dogs in an outbuilding or can be left safely in owners vehicles, there is no provision inside the building.
• The signage is painted on a wooden hanging board. 
 

 
Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area


There is one step up into the building which is 10 cm high, the door way is 83cm wide with a swung door into the into the hall way which is 73cm wide, the floor is carpeted and level throughout the ground floor.
• Guests are requested to fill in a registration form on arrival, assistance is provided if required and seating is available.
• Lighting is down lighters with a dimmer control.
• A familiarisation tour of the building is given to all guests.
• Normal check in hours are between
4.00pm and 6.00pm, however an early or late check-in is available on request.
• There are doors from the hallway to the guest lounge, dining room, washroom, shop/ information room and owners quarters.
 

 
Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc


There are two floors available for the public to use, the first floor is accessed by a staircase and houses all the guest bedrooms and bathrooms. All the floors are carpeted.
• There are no specific public telephones however guests can use the owner’s telephone.
• The stairs have 12 steps that are 20cm high, 27cm deep and 73 cm wide, with a wooden hand rail down one side.
• All doors are FD30 fire doors and are 73 cm wide. All bedrooms have either an en-suite or private bath/shower room with wash hand basin and WC.
 

 
Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc


The guest’s lounge is on the ground floor and has a carpeted floor, the door way is 73cm wide.
 

 
Public WCs


The public WC is a standard toilet and is located off the hallway which is 73cm wide
• The hallway is carpeted and the WC has a laminate floor.
• The WC is signed and is unisex with a floor area 3mx1m.
• A baby changing mat is provided.
 

 

 
Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas


The bedrooms are all on the first floor.
• A smoke detector is fitted both in the hallway and the landing and is mains powered to alert occupants in case of a fire.
• TV/DVD with teletext is available in all bedrooms and the guest's lounge.
• Lighting is ceiling mounted and up lights on the walls, all are on dimmer switches.
• Two bedrooms have super king size beds and one bedroom has two double beds.
• The kettles are cordless with sight indicators on the rear.
• All rooms have fridges containing complimentary milk, bottled water and a small bottle of white wine.
• Beds are made with feather and down quilts and pillows, synthetics are available on request.
• Specific diets can be catered for with sufficient notice prior to arrival.
 

 
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]


Bathrooms have standard sized baths and toilets with power showers over the bath.
• Taps are left right mixer and up down for speed.
• Luxury bathroom has a double size whirlpool bath and separate cubicle body jet shower.
• Floors are carpeted and approx 1.5m by 1.5m.
• Doors are swung FD30 approx 73cm wide, outward opening.  


   

 
Additional Information


Evacuation procedure is detailed in room information pack, via front door if possible or through conservation windows in the bedrooms.
• Service dogs accommodated.
• The building is totally none smoking.
• Mobile phone reception is poor; a signal is generally available for vodaphone.
• No interconnecting rooms are available.
