Bolton Castle is visible from the lounge window less than 1/2 a mile away and the world famous Aysgarth Falls are 3 miles walk across the fields or 5 minutes by car. For train enthusiasts the Wensleydale railway stops at Redmire.

The Forbiddden Corner folly garden is an excellent day out for adults and children alike on your way to Middleham~the Newmarket of the north.

Other attractions include the Creamery at Hawes~the home of Wensleydale Cheese, the Caves at Ingleton and The Black Sheep Brewery at Masham.

There are castles at Richmond and Middleham and gardens at Constable Burton Hall
