Walking up to Bolton Castle                                     Redmire Force after Heavy Rain

Walking & Cycling

Wensleydale and the surrounding Dales offer some of the best cycling and walking in England. With stunning scenery and idyllic market towns you will find unforgetable routes and walks for all abilities. The Old Town Hall is perfectly located for walkers with a multitude of public footpaths running from Redmire to Bolton Castle, Aysgarth Falls, down to the river and Redmire Force waterfall. The village of Reeth is just over the hill and further into Swaledale you come to Muker and Keld with a delightful walk that follows part of The Pennine Way and allows for a visit to Muker Tea Room, an absolute must. Redmire itself is on The Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way and serves as an ideal base for all. We have private parking at the rear of The Old Town Hall,  secure storage for cycles and drying facilities for boots and clothing should the weather not be as kind as you hoped. Visitors in the autumn and winter months will benefit from seeing the many waterfalls in the area at their "full" and most spectacular, making the occasional rain a definite plus.

Our rescued English Pointer 'Shula' is always keen for a walk, whatever the weather!
